We know there’s a lot going on right now and there’s so much new music being released this one, but allow us to highlight the new VHS Collection disc.

As we mentioned before, the New York trio had some great singles leading up to today’s release of night driving. Now the album itself is one of our favorites this week. True to its title, the record is like the perfect soundtrack for a late-night jaunt to anywhere or absolutely nowhere, listening through your headphones while you pretend it’s not 20 degrees outside or the world didn’t go crazy.

“Driving at night on a long highway, blasting music alone, with friends or with your girlfriend,” says guitarist and producer Conor Cook. “It’s always been one of the most important musical experiences for me. There’s nothing like those moments. That’s when you really appreciate the importance of a great song.

Singer James Bohannon adds: “There’s something magical that happens when it’s dark, you have music on and you’re driving. We’ll make it work, we’ll figure it out. The ups and downs, the obstacles, we will persevere and understand. We have to keep trucking.

And whether intentional or not, this universal message ultimately seems very timely. Listen to the full disc now available on Tiger Tone / [PIAS].
