Manchester City vs Sporting CP (Champions League): How to watch, live stream, live watch details

Pep Guardiola’s side once again showed their might when it mattered most, as they outclassed long-distance rivals Manchester United in a 4-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

A masterclass from Kevin De Bruyne and the magnificence of Riyad Mahrez helped the Blues overtake local rivals with the East. The Belgian opened the scoring with a brilliant close-range finish and scored once more to put Manchester City ahead after United equalized.

Adding to the misery, the Algerian international winger scored two brilliant goals to complete the double over Manchester United for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

City now return to the Champions League this week, taking on Sporting CP at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night in the second leg of the round of 16. Manchester City beat the Portuguese side 5-0 at the Estádio José Alvalade with contributions from Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling.

On the home front in Portugal, Ruben Amorim’s side have won two games, drawn one and lost as many since their beating at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s well-oiled machine.

With a colossal task ahead of the Lions to qualify for the quarter-finals, they will travel to Manchester with nothing to lose. However, City appear to have gotten the job done and will be looking to tick the game off without being complacent.
